First Church of Christ, Scientist - Needham
Services

Sunday Services

Our Sunday Service begins at 10:30am every Sunday morning, and lasts an hour. Our service consists of quiet prayer, hymn singing, and readings from our Pastor – the Bible and the Christian Science Textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Christian Science churches do not have clergy in the traditional sense. Instead, the members of each church elect a First and Second Reader from their congregation, to read specific passages from the Bible and Science and Health. Each week a different selection of passages, or Lesson Sermons, are set forth in the Christian Science Quarterly, and Christian Science churches all over the world read the same passages on the same Sunday. Sunday School and childcare are available at the same time as the Sunday Service, for children and young adults up to the age of 20.

Wednesday Evening Meetings

Our Wednesday Evening Meetings begin at 7:30pm every Wednesday, and last one hour. These services, also known as Testimony Meetings, provide an opportunity for attendees to give gratitude for the healing presence of God in their lives and to share with others the ways in which they have put Christian Science into practice.  The first half of the meeting is given to readings from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. The second half is dedicated to testimonies of healing and gratitude. Children are welcome to attend our Wednesday meetings, and childcare is available during these meetings for children too young to attend.

You are warmly invited to attend any of our services! We look forward to meeting you.
